Can I change or view my policy online?
Not at the moment. Please contact the office to perform any changes. Documents will then be emailed immediately to you. Out of Hours please email firstname.lastname@example.org and changes will be processed from that time if requested (changes in Premium may apply).
What is the minimum age of a driver on a Horsebox policy?
You can add a driver from the age of 21 to a horsebox policy.
Do you provide a Breakdown Service and what does the Breakdown Service cover me for?
Horsebox Breakdown covers Roadside Assistance, Recovery & Homestart. It also covers the movement of the Horses, Overnight Accommodation and Stabling. Full Policy wording can be found on our website. For the telephone number please contact the office.
Can I take out Breakdown Policy after I have taken out my Horsebox Policy?
Yes, however the premium paid covers you up until the renewal date of your Horsebox Policy and is not pro rata’d. You also cannot use the Breakdown policy for 48 hours.
Do I have legal expenses on my policy?
All Horsebox policies are quoted with Legal cover. In the event of an accident that is not your fault it recovers all your out of pocket expenses and argues your case in the event of any disputes. It is strongly advisable that you leave this cover included. If you wish to deduct please contact the office.
Will I get driving other Vehicle benefits on this policy?
This is not available under a Horsebox Policy.
Do I have cover in place to drive my vehicle abroad?
Please contact the office and we will confirm the appropriate cover is in place.
Do you do limited mileage discounts and what happens if I exceed my mileage limit?
We do offer a mileage discount. These are incorporated into the premiums quoted. If you feel you may excess the limit at any time during the policy please contact the office.
What is Guaranteed No Claims Bonus?
This allows you to protect your Horsebox No Claims bonus for the life of the policy regardless of how many claims you make.
What is an excess?
The excess is the first part that you pay towards the cost of a claim that you or the vehicle is involved in. Your excess can be found on the Schedule of Insurance document.
What is acceptable as no claims Bonus proof?
Only Bona Fida Horsebox No Claims bonus can be used on a Horsebox Policy. However we do offer introductory Discounts so if the premium is not competitive please contact the office.
How do I make a claim?

Do I get a courtesy Horsebox after an accident?
This can be arranged in the event of a non-fault accident but is dependent on the circumstances. Please contact us if you require further information.
How can I cancel my policy?
Please contact the office and confirm this. We also may need this in writing along with the return of the certificate of Insurance
Do I get a refund if I have had a claim on my policy?
This depends on whether the claim has been settled in your favour. If your insurance company have paid out for a claim and not yet recovered their losses then they will not allow a refund of premium if the policy. If you are unsure of whether the claim has been settled or not please contact us.
If I cancel my policy do I also just cancel the Direct Debit Agreement?
No. Please contact us before cancelling the Direct Debit. Horsebox policies are cancelled on Short Period Rates therefore you could still owe money. You may also still owe money if you have made a claim on the policy and will therefore need to settle the direct debit in full. If you are unsure please contact us.
What will I be charged if I cancel my policy within 14 days of receiving my policy information?
You will be charged an administration fee for the work undertaken so far. You will also be charged pro rata for any time you have had on cover. No penalties will apply.
Will I still owe money after my policy has been cancelled?
Horsebox policies are calculated on short period cancellation scales. More on this can be found in the Policy wording on this website or by contacting the office. If you pay on Direct Debit the amount you owe is likely to be higher than the refund given by the insurer
What happens when my policy is due for renewal?
We will contact you with a renewal Quote via email and post 21 days prior to the renewal date.
